Generative AI (explorations)

I have been interested for a long time in the creative and philosophical dimensions of AI as form of knowledge production and how this relates to ongoing critical debates around post- (or non-human) epistemologies, new materialism, weird realism and the Anthropocene. I am especially interested in exploring so-called “distributed representations” brought about by neural networks and deep learning systems (e.g. debates around multi dimensional latent vector spaces and distributed representations etc) and their relationship to complex systems and different forms of human-nature entanglements. One of the most interesting developments in this field, obviously, has to do with generative AI and simulations – and General Adversarial Networks s in particular – as new forms of research and creative expression. These examples are some baby-steps of trying to make sense of these new worlds being created and what is possible.
